She sleeps! In her own bed!

Ahh, the glorious toddler bed. Who would have thought it would make such a difference in Emily's sleep habits? We'd grown pretty accustomed to Emily sleeping in our bed for part of the night. But ever since we got back from vacation, where she slept with us all night, every night, she has not wanted to sleep in her crib at all. So we set up the toddler bed, thinking it would be easier to get her to sleep at night, and have her stay asleep.

Well, it works! The night before last she went down at 8:45pm and slept until 6:45 the next morning. Not a peep out of her all night. I even got up to go check on her around 5am. She was just snoozin' away.
She even goes to sleep pretty easily. One of us will sit on the floor next to her bed and lay our head on her pillow. Last night I was patting her back and apparently stopped before she wanted me to. She grabbed my hand and returned it to her back. The surprising thing is that it doesn't take her long to fall asleep. She's out within 5-10 minutes. And when she wakes up, there's no crying like there was with the crib. Just "Mommaaa! Moooooommaaaaaaaa!"
I think some of it has to do with her being more comfortable in the bed. My neighbor had even mentioned that maybe she'd feel better about being able to get up when she wants, etc. Whatever it is, it works for me!
