Too Close For Comfort

On his way to work this morning, Jim witnessed some crazy nut job shooting a semi-automatic weapon all over the place. He was a mere 100 feet away from this lunatic. Apparently the guy was mad because his girlfriend was cheating on him with his best friend. So he stands on the sidewalk of a busy street, shooting, looking for his friend. Luckily Jim was smart and got the hell out of there. He turned down a side street and went to work a different way. Unfortunately one of his co-workers wasn't so lucky. He was believed to have been a couple cars back from the friend of the shooter and got caught in the gunfire. He was shot in the elbow and is currently in the hospital. Two or three others were shot as well, but all are doing well. The shooter killed himself shortly after letting loose 50+ shots.

It's easy to lose sight of how fortunate you are until something like this happens. Makes you think that someone's working on your side... Jim said he kept thinking, "What if I hadn't hung around longer for another hug from Emily?" and stuff like that. You never know how the simplest decisions you make can affect you later.

Wow! That is so scary, Heather. I'm glad Jim was able to get out of harms way. I hope his coworker recovers quickly.
