We're taking Emily to the Picture People to get her pictures taken this afternoon. God help me to not buy all the cute little boy things I can get my hands on. I have been in such a shopping mood since finding out we're having a boy that it's pathetic. Jim and I have been motivated to finally start emptying the baby's room. We made a good dent yesterday. Unfortunately we haven't really found the space for all our junk yet. It's just been temporarily moved to our sunroom for the time being. It's too cold to use anyway (it's not weather-proofed), so we might as well store some things there for now. I just want to get the baby's room emptied so we can get moving on things. The border needs to come down, the room needs painted, and we'll probably end up putting new carpeting in there. We'll also be putting another shelf and hanging rack in the closet since it's so incredibly small. Emily's closet is probably 4 times the size. Well, hey, she's a girl, so someday she'll need all that room!
Hopefully we can take a look at some crib bedding while we're out as well. Once we have something picked out we can pick out a wall color.
We went to Zoo Lights at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo last night. It was a nice night once the wind died down. We were all bundled up, and once we started walking we were all comfy. Emily didn't want to get out of her stroller at first, but then she decided to get up and walk. Once she did she had so much fun. She was running around all over the place with her cousins. It was interesting to see how much more she was into all the animals since the last time we went in July. And they had so many displays of lights everywhere.
Emily has been getting pretty good with saying "no thank you". We've been working on it a lot since she's been practically yelling "NO!" when she doesn't want something - even a hug from someone. So now she's been sounding much more polite.
Yesterday I was telling her it was naptime. She looked at me very seriously and in a very polite voice said, "No thank you, Momma."
I'm glad she was so polite about it, but she didn't really have a choice in the matter. She cracks me up.
